What can I help with?
Psychotherapy or psychology-based coaching/consulting can address both issues that require time for exploration as well as short-term dilemmas. I can provide you support and a space to think through situations during periods of change. Some examples are a sense of a lack of meaning, or lack of feelings of achievement despite the wins, anxiety or low mood that has no obvious cause, exploring future life directions, increasing a sense of autonomy, or making decisions.
How many consultations should you have?
-
Some people find that even a short period of time with an active and appropriately challenging professional is sufficient for gaining clarity on how to proceed on their own - in that case, just 1 or 2 consultations can be effective.
-
Many clients facing urgent, but more complicated dilemmas may choose to attend 6 to 10 sessions before they feel ready to tackle them by themselves.
-
A significant number of people opt to attend on a regular, 'maintenance', basis attending monthly or fortnightly to discuss ongoing challenges that life presents at home and at work.
-
Sometimes, however, when everything seems fine from the outside, the reasons for inner dissatisfaction may be complex and require some time to be understood. Similarly, a sense of profound loss, or a long-experienced disappointment, for example, can require deeper exploration, and clients might choose to attend more frequently (e.g. weekly) for longer periods of time.

Ultimately, the frequency and duration is up to you! We will review our work on a regular basis, discussing what works best for you as a client, and whether consultations continue to be needed.
How do I work?
I use a person-centred approach as the foundation in my practice, using aspects from other approaches (e.g. cognitive-behavioural, existential, ACT, etc.), when it can benefit the client. My approach is active, responsive and collaborative - individual client's needs and preferences determine the way we work together.
Ongoing knowledge development
I continually evolve my practice by staying informed and actively engaging with the latest scientific understanding and research in psychology, neuroscience, coaching, business psychology, and other related disciplines. I aim to ensure that this is always reflected in my practice in ways that are most helpful to clients.
